Deeply impressed by the exhibition, I must mention my sister, Hazel
Imbert's work. I studied under Constance Howard at Goldsmith's
College and her influence on me was profound. She showed what
emotion can be imparted with textile work at a time when everyone
had matching handbags and shoes and 'blue and green should never be
seen'!

I am working on textual contemporary quilting in Sydney Australia
and welcome visits from artists to my studio

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing your work at Brighton Creative Stitches
and also your fascinating talk. Are you looking for new members? I've
got a City and Guilds 1 and 2 embroidery and need company and
inspiration! Either way best wishes for your future ventures.

I attended the exhibition yesterday at Brighton and was completely
blown away by the work on show at the necrotex stand. Quite apart
from the exquisite work on show, the written pieces brought up a
depth of emotion for me that I didn't expect. How brave of all to
express their deepest and most intimate thoughts about their lives
and the inner child and to share it with all of us. Needless to say
I was crying before I saw anything else!!!....not a problem! I was
aware that a friend, Bea had her piece of work on show(beautiful,
just beautiful)and knew the general theme of the exhibits, but the
standard of such wonderful, poignant work was of the highest. I
thoroughly enjoyed sharing this with all the people involved and
would like to say a big thankyou to all. I would be very interested
to enrol on a course with you...could you possibly e mail any
details to me if you have them. Thanks again. Jill Palmer

Looks great - wish I'd seen it. I'll pass the details on to
Miranda - she works with Latest Homes and Wave - both free mags that
cover the south east. Hope you are all well and happy. Still sad I
missed your Big Party. Love from all of us to all of you. Pete.

I found the various perspectives of death interesting, but a little
disappointed that the Christian element was the only religious
influence remarked on. It is said that clothes maketh the man, but
we are, I believe, clothed only in our humanity, and the colour and
texture of that cloth is determined by the quality of the life we
have lived and the legacy of love we leave behind.

What a talented big sister I have! Beautiful and sexy, too. Love
the recycling theme, sis, even if a tad morbid. Don't go donating
any of your organs too soon, and definitely not before you have
completed your will making me sole beneficiary. And remember to
take out extra life insurance in the meantime.
Love always, Little Brother.

I've never been to an exhibition that was filled with so much emotion.
I know I was overwelmed & overcome with emotion to the point of
having to leave to 'collect myself'. The exhibitors shared their
innermost feelings in words & interpretation. The notes that, some of
the exhibitors, have shared on this website I feel priveledged that
they have allowed me into thier deepest thoughts & feelings.
I applaud all the students & exhibitors of the Experimental Textile
group for their depth of interpretation & the quality of their work.
I wish all of you well in your future projects & adventures.
Please don't forget to let me know when you are exhibiting again.
Congratulations & Thank you.
Freda

I attended the exhibition early this afternoon and was very surprised
to enter a light, airy space filled with music, laughter, colour,
vibrant textile 'works' and a general air of conviviality - not at
all what I expected! I had anticipated 'darkness' and 'a sombre
mood' if not in design, in colour. How wrong can one be? The pieces
of work on display all showed a great sense of human emotion, feeling
and continuity and above all a great sense of celebration. I was
very glad I had visited - I look forward to the next exhibition.
Well done to all who participated!
